LignUp Corporation, a provider of Web services based converged communications solutions, today announced that industry veteran Richard Kirk has joined the LignUp management team as Vice President of EMEA Sales and Operations. Based in London, Kirk will manage the expansion of LignUp's sales force and channel development across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Richard has more than 20 years of international sales and marketing experience across all areas of IT, particularly in enterprise, security and mission critical systems for banking, finance and telecommunications companies. During this time, Kirk has held a number of executive sales, consulting and technical positions and was instrumental in building the scheduling and broadcasting software system for Channel 4 television (UK).

Formerly, Kirk was responsible for all aspects of Nominum’s EMEA business where he grew the European presence from a standing start to a point where a large number of well known enterprises and most European telecommunications companies now rely on Nominum’s technology. Kirk established a comprehensive reseller and partner network across EMEA and representatives in more than six major countries.

Kirk also successfully led operations for enCommerce EMEA as vice president and managing director, growing the enCommerce business from nothing to more than $10 million in less than 18 months. The success of enCommerce led to its acquisition by Entrust, Inc., where Kirk served as vice president and general manager of the Entrust Ventures' Global Wireless Solutions division.
