Churchill Networks Offers Voice-Enabled Business Processes Using LignUp

Churchill Expands Business Service Portfolio with LignUp and Corebridge Integrated Communications

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. and LONDON – APRIL 3, 2007. LignUp Corporation, a provider of converged communications solutions, today announced that Churchill Networks has implemented the LignUp Communications Application Server. Churchill, a major supplier of prepaid voice communications services, is using the service-oriented architecture (SOA) based LignUp server to provide a new suite of hosted communication-enabled business processes (CEBP) for its enterprise customers. The value-added, voice-over-IP (VoIP) powered services will enable Churchill to build customer loyalty, differentiate the company, and grow its revenues within the highly competitive and commoditized prepaid calling card market.

The 100% software LignUp platform provides Churchill with all the functionality needed to build presence-aware, voice-enabled applications and Web services quickly, including built-in call control, media control, presence, PBX, voice mail, and unified messaging capabilities; and LignUp Web Services, APIs, and VoIPlets. Churchill is implementing LignUp in combination with the Corebridge integrated communications solution, which links business applications such as email, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and customer relationship management (CRM) systems with telecommunications equipment including PBXs, desk phones, dealerboards and fax servers. The integrated LignUp and Corebridge functionality offered by Churchill Networks will provide its business customers with several benefits:

  • greater productivity and collaboration with unified delivery of information via voice and text to desktops, office phones and a range of mobile devices;
  • rules-based communications processes to increase availability and customer service while lowering costs;
  • better insight into phone usage to improve productivity and optimize efficiency; and
  • tight mobile integration to ensure office-quality access and responsiveness for remote workers.

“With LignUp, we now have the SOA platform to provide hosted communication-enabled business processes, which will allow our customers to realize productivity gains and efficiencies that contribute directly to their profitability. Corebridge complements LignUp with a next-generation solution for integrating communications equipment with business applications,” said Reza Rahnama, general manager of Churchill Networks. “Using these best-in-class technologies, we are able to evolve from a trusted communications source into a strategic solution provider of Web-based applications and services for our business customers.”

“By bringing together Corebridge’s and LignUp’s proven solutions, Churchill Networks is delivering a suite of services that demonstrate the compelling value of converged communications and business processes,” said Francis Zadan, Corebridge’s chief executive officer. “We are honored to join Churchill and LignUp in empowering companies to leverage telephony-enabled business services to optimize their customer relations and operational efficiency.”

The hosted Churchill CEBP service suite will be deployed and managed in Churchill’s UK-based datacenters. Churchill will also make the suite available for sale through a network of business partners across Europe. By centralizing the operations and support, the service suite can be offered quickly anywhere in Europe, through a network of ISPs serving the small-to-medium enterprise (SME) and large enterprise sectors across Europe.

“Churchill Networks understands that enriching business collaboration and productivity through voice-enabled processes represents a significant opportunity in the global telecommunications market,” said Kevin Nethercott, founder, president and COO at LignUp Corporation. “With our SOA-based LignUp solution, Churchill recognized the ability to go beyond core IP-PBX features and provide the voice-enabled Web services and scalability to uniquely support the business operations of today and tomorrow.”
