LignUp and Intel Corporation will jointly conduct a Mashup University class teaching developers how to create instant, interactive mobile alerts through mashups of voice, rich media, and SMS messaging. The debut of the LignUp and Intel mashup will be joined by the unveiling of a new Web 2.0 mashup with Amazon and Facebook bringing voice to social networking. The class and mashup demonstrations will highlight the ease and flexibility of creating mashups using the voice-over-IP (VoIP) and media Web services of the LignUp Communications Application Server, the 100% standards-based software (SIP, RTP, SOAP/WSDL built on a service-oriented architecture (SOA).

Mashup University: Instant Voice-Alerts for Mobile Monitoring The popularity of online media is driving the need for more bandwidth, power, and storage. Now it’s possible for your Web 2.0 and Enterprise applications to leverage information about your server’s configurations – CPU storage, connectivity, power and more – to instantly notify one or more people about critical issues in the hardware that may affect the applications’ performance.

LignUp and Intel will conduct a 30-minute class that will show developers how to quickly and easily mashup Intel and LignUp’s APIs to provide more expressive interactions and better user experiences. The mashup will, not only indicate issues in the computer, but also provide information via voice or text-to-speech on the nearest retailer or service provider. Links to a yellow pages directory can then provide contact information and directly connect the call to the store.

Giving Voice to Social Networking In addition to presenting the Voice-Alert mashup with Intel, LignUp will demonstrate three new mashup applications with Facebook and the Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3). The social networking mashup will put LignUp’s call routing and find me/follow me rules inside of Facebook to control all incoming calls based on caller ID. Another application of the LignUp and Facebook mashup will enable voice recording, text-to-speech, broadcast messaging, three-way calling, and basic click-to-call. The third application will allow Facebook members to voice annotate their photos.
